Supporting women in business

WiMBA

Hunter Water currently participates in University of Newcastle’s Women in Master of Business Administration (WiMBA) scholarship program. The WiMBA initiative aims to redress the gender equity imbalance by offering scholarships to female employees at Hunter Water, in partnership with The University of Newcastle.

As part of this scholarship, the University will subsidise 25 per cent of the cost and Hunter Water will pay 50 per cent, which means the employee covers only 25 per cent of the cost of an MBA.

"Gender diversity in senior management positions is a key area for improvement at Hunter Water, and supporting participation in the WiMBA is just one initiative that we have implemented to address the imbalance over time".
Executive Leadership Team

Recipients of the WiMBA scholarship are expected to complete an MBA degree part-time within four years of the date of enrolment. Students are offered the opportunity to meet twice a year with their mentor to discuss their studies, see how their career is progressing and network with other WiMBA scholarship holders.
