National Water Week Primary School Poster Competition
Celebrate the power of water this National Water Week by getting involved in this annual Primary School Poster Competition.
Open to primary school students across the country, this competition invites students to explore this year’s theme “Water connects everything” through creativity and imagination.
How it works
Students create an original A3-sized poster highlighting a water-related issue or idea relevant to their local area.
Entries are judged locally by Hunter Water, with winners from each category progressing to national judging through the Australian Water Association.
Ensure your entry reaches Hunter Water by Wednesday 16th September to be eligible for local judging.
Judging criteria
Posters will be assessed on:
- How well the poster conveys water-related issues relevant to your local area
- How well it can be reproduced to promote National Water Week
- Visual impact and presentation (including colour and design)

- Use of materials
Winners will be announced during National Water Week 2026.
