We strive to create an inclusive environment in which differences are not only recognised, but valued and celebrated. By bringing together people from diverse backgrounds and giving each person the opportunity to contribute their different skills, experiences and perspectives, we believe we are able to deliver the best solutions to our customers and the community, and to any challenges we face as a business.
We have implemented a three-year Diversity and Inclusion Strategy that focuses on creating an inclusive culture and promotes greater representation of six equity groupings, namely: Indigenous, abilities, gender equity, LGBTIQ, generational diversity and cultural and linguistic diversity.
We understand that in order to be resilient, adaptive and innovative, we must seek out a range of perspectives from people who have diverse backgrounds and experiences.
We have undertaken a number of programs, including running unconscious bias training, sponsoring women to undertake their MBA, running a women's mentoring program, providing scholarships to Indigenous students and those with a disability, sponsoring the HunterWiSE program to encourage more female high school students to pursue STEM careers, and many more.
We understand that our employees are at various life stages and have varying demands requiring flexibility in their lives. We are committed to creating working environments for them that will drive engagement and productivity as well maintain a high level of wellbeing. We believe that offering a range of flexible working options provides this. It is the right thing to do and also good for our organisation.
