Checking for water leaks

Regularly checking your taps, pipes and fittings can help you catch problems early. Use your water meter to check for hidden leaks and take control of your water use.
How to do an overnight leak test
- Before you go to bed, turn off all taps and water-using devices at your property.
- Take a photo or write down your meter reading (Note: the white dials are kilolitres and the red dials are litres).
- Check your meter reading again in the morning – has it changed?
- If the numbers have changed, you may have a hidden leak and you may require a licensed plumber to locate and repair as soon as possible.
