Beresfield and Tarro maintenance hole inspections

We have engaged a contractor, Interflow, to carry out routine maintenance hole (manhole) inspections of our wastewater (sewer) system in the suburbs of Beresfield and Tarro, as part of our maintenance program. These maintenance holes are located in the road, verge, public spaces and private properties.

About the project

Work involves opening the lid to a maintenance hole, using a special camera on a tripod to record conditions inside the maintenance hole, visually inspecting the asset and its surrounds, and then replacing the lid.

This work may help identify faults or cracks in the wastewater system, and allows Hunter Water to monitor asset conditions.

Project timeline

Work is expected to start from Monday 2 June 2025 and take about 3-4 months to complete, weather permitting.

Most activity will be carried out between 7am and 5pm Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays), however the contractor may need to arrange testing of some manholes on a Saturday.

Maintenance holes on private property

If you have a maintenance hole on your property that needs to be inspected you will have received a letter from Hunter Water which will allow our contractor to enter your yard to complete the inspection.

A representative from Interflow will also be in touch with you 1-2 days prior to the inspection at your property. You do not need to be home during the inspections and at no time will our crews need to enter residences or buildings.
