Overview

Hunter Water is carrying out upgrade works to the Morpeth wastewater system due to growth in the Maitland, Morpeth and Thornton areas.
This work is being undertaken to provide additional capacity to the existing system and to reduce overflows during wet weather.
Works commenced in June 2010 and are expected to be finished in late 2011. Work is being undertaken by Delcare Construction.
Construction is currently taking place on a wastewater pumping station in Glenroy Street in Thornton.
How this might affect you?
Houses in the area may experience some noise, odour and dust during the work.
Electrical works on the 24 to the 25 August 2011
As part of this upgrade, Carey Constructions, on behalf of Hunter Water, will be undertaking electrical works to relocate the Beresfield 4 Wastewater Pump Station electrical switchboard, located on Glenroy Street.
These works will be carried out from 7am, 24 August 2011 through until 2pm, 25 August 2011.
During this period, there may be some noise impacts and minor traffic delays caused by an increase in vehicle movements (Veolia tankers) along Glenroy Street, Rockleigh Street and Railway Avenue. These vehicles will allow for the continuous transfer of wastewater to the Morpeth Wastewater treatment works. A Daymaker floodlight system will also be set up on site for the duration of the night works.
Every effort will be made to minimise any amenity impacts arising from these works. Your patience during these works is appreciated.
If you have any questions or would like further information about these works, please contact Carey Constructions site manager Ian Kelly on 0407 902 595 or Hunter Water's Project Manager, Chris Liebetrau on 0457 546 955 or by email at consultation@hunterwater.com.au.
