Overview
Hunter Water is undertaking a staged upgrade of the existing wastewater system in Kurri Kurri which involves upgrade of the Kurri Kurri 1 wastewater pump station and rising main upgrade. A new emergency storage will be constructed as part of this upgrade to reduce overflows.
The upgrade will reduce weather overflow impacts on customers and the environment and will improve reliability and security of supply. The upgrade will also cater for future development of the region, which is anticipated with the forthcoming construction of the F3 to Branxton link.
Work commenced on this upgrade in January 2010 and is expected to be complete by mid 2012.
The work is being carried out by Kerroc Constructions Pty Ltd on behalf of Hunter Water.
