Floraville, Tingira Heights, Belmont North & Jewells 12:15pm Unplanned Outage 615675 - Due to water main repair work in progress, elevated properties in Floraville, Belmont North & Tingira Heights may experience low water pressure until early next week (Monday 28/9/2020) during morning and evening peak periods. We suggest avoiding water usage during these times when possible. The repair work is complex and involves road closures. Please continue to ring in any watermain leaks in these areas. Thank you for your patience and we apologise for any inconvenience.

Understanding maintenance responsibilities

We may maintain and repair the pipes from our water main (typically on the street) to and including your water meter where the meter frame is situated a maximum of one metre inside your property boundary.

Responsibility for the maintenance and repairs of pipes from your water meter to the home is your (or the home owner's) responsibility.

Common issues to report online are:

Water meter

  •   The body of the water meter is leaking
  •   The pipe from the water main to the water meter is leaking

Path tap

  •   The path tap won't turn off the water supply
  •   The path tap is leaking 
  • The path tap is located on the water meter frame and is used to control the water supply to your property. Houses will find it located outside, while for units or apartments it may be near your front door or in a service cupboard.  

We will not attend to repair:

  •   damage to your water system not caused by us
  •   private water services connecting to our water infrastructure under the terms of a separate agreement
  •   main to meter services greater than 40mm in diameter
  •   unauthorised connections
  •   Water services connected to privately owned water mains (some community title subdivisions or private joint water services)
  •   fire services
  •   backflow prevention devices on properties, except where the device is integrated into the water meter supplied and owned by us

In these instances you will need to contact a licensed plumber to carry out the appropriate work as your own expense.
