Why I work in water: Amanda Kime
As Team Leader of Hunter Water’s Customer Assistance Team, Amanda plays a vital role in helping customers across the Hunter region who are doing it tough. Leading a dedicated team of four, Amanda oversees the collection of all billable water accounts and vulnerable support programs while advocating for early engagement and support awareness to positively impact the customer experience.
“We’re a small but passionate team, and every day we work to make a genuine difference in the lives of our customers.
“With the rising cost of living, many households are facing financial challenges. Our job is to support them through those tough times and ensure they’re treated with dignity and understanding,” Amanda said.
Since joining Hunter Water in 2017, Amanda has found true purpose in her role—offering tailored assistance and helping people stay connected to essential water services.
“What I enjoy most is being able to support our most vulnerable customers,” Amanda says.
“Every story is different, and it’s incredibly rewarding to be able to help people find a path forward.”
While the daily work presents new challenges, it’s also full of rewarding moments.
“One of the most interesting parts of the role is just how varied each day can be. No two situations are the same, and that keeps me motivated.”
