Unfortunately no, the rebate only applies to the property a pensioner owns and occupies. However, there are circumstances where the applicant may still be entitled to a rebate even though they are not the owner of a property, such as under the terms of a life tenancy, sole beneficiary, or similar agreement.
-
I own multiple properties, can I claim the pension rebate on all of these properties?
Pensioners are not eligible for the rebate for any additional premises they may own, such as investment properties.
-
I am part of a Community Title, can I claim the pension rebate on my water bill?
If your property forms part of a community title, please contact us.
-
If I move, or my circumstances change, do I need to reapply for the Pension Rebate?
Yes. It is important for customers who receive the Pension Rebate to contact us if there is a change in situations so that your pension rebate can be reapplied. This might mean buying a new property, changing mailing address, travelling for a long period of time, divorce, separation or death of a spouse. Contact us and we can help.
