Hunter Water has been actively looking at practical ways to update its design practices and standards. In line with other major Australian water authorities, we have now developed integrated Hunter Water editions of the Water Services Association of Australia (WSAA) WSA02 Sewerage Code of Australia and the WSA03 Water Supply Code of Australia. The integrated editions of the design codes have replaced sections 1, 2 and 3 of the Hunter Water Design Manual.
Integrated editions read like the original WSAA Codes but have markers and labels (similar to track changes) indicating that the WSAA standard has been modified or added to in some way.
From 1 January 2010, all servicing strategy, concept and detail design projects for water supply and/or gravity sewerage network infrastructure must be completed in accordance with the new Hunter Water Edition of the WSAA Water Supply and Sewerage Codes.
