Munibung Creek Rehabilitation
Additional approvalView timeline
We're rehabilitating the natural section of Munibung Creek in Cardiff to:
- maintain the natural appearance of the waterway
- stabilise the banks and creek bed to prevent further erosion
- protect adjoining property and buildings from erosion
- reduce the build-up of rubbish and weeds.
We have developed a detailed design for the creek rehabilitation, which included feedback from nearby residents and businesses.
Check out the Project News below for our latest update on the project.
Community values and ideas
Input from residents and businesses will inform the design development. The survey closed on Friday 29 November 2019.
Reviewing community feedback
We are currently reviewing the outcomes from the resident survey to inform the concept design.
Finalise the concept design
Following community feedback on the preliminary design for Munibung Creek, we will carry out further studies, including flood modelling and surveys, before finalising the concept design.
2021 - 2022
We have developed a detailed design for the creek rehabilitation, which included an opportunity for nearby residents and businesses to review the design and provide feedback.
Given the increased timeframes and costs identified in the design phase, the project will need to go through an additional approval process within our organisation.
Rehabilitation works will get underway.
