Residential pricing, fees and charges

In June 2020, IPART finalised its review of the prices that Hunter Water’s can charge. Customers will benefit from lower bills over the next four years and increased investment in the region’s water and wastewater infrastructure. Below are the prices effective from 1 July 2023.

Do you own a stand-alone house connected to water and sewer?

A house with a single connection to water and sewer is liable for sewer service, water service, water usage and an environmental projects charge. Service charges are payable in advance pro-rated across each billing cycle and usage charges are paid in arrears based on the reading of your water meter.

Do you own a stand-alone house connected to water only?

A house with a single connection to water only is liable for water service, water usage and an environmental projects charge. Service charges are payable in advance pro-rated across each billing cycle and usage charges are paid in arrears based on the reading of your water meter.

Do you own a flat/unit connected to water and sewer?

A flat or unit with a connection to water and sewer is liable for sewer service, water service, water usage and environmental projects charge. Service charges are payable in advance pro-rated across each billing cycle and usage charges are paid in arrears based on the reading of your water meter (if individually metered) or your share of the master meter (if not individually metered).

Do you own a stand-alone house connected to water, sewer and recycled water?

A house with a single connection to water and sewer is liable for sewer service, water service, water usage and environmental project charge. In addition to the standard water and sewer service charges, dual reticulation customers pay a recycled water service charge and a recycled water usage charge.

Service charges are payable in advance pro-rated across each billing cycle and usage charges are paid in arrears based on the reading of your water meter.
