Hunter Water will soon begin upgrading the wastewater (sewer) network to accommodate the future growth predicted for Lochinvar and nearby suburbs. This upgrade will include construction of a new wastewater pumping station and sewer main to transfer wastewater to the treatment works at Farley. This project, estimated at $7.4 Million, is scheduled to start construction in early 2017.
The new wastewater pump station will be constructed on Hunter Water's land on the northern side of the New England Highway near the Station Lane intersection. The new sewer main, approximately 6kms in length, will run in parallel to the existing sewer main, following and crossing under the New England Highway near Kyle Street Lochinvar.
