Tomago to Tomaree Pipeline Construction Begins

Construction of 37 kilometres of pipeline from Tomago Water Treatment Plant to the Tomaree Peninsula was completed in order to meet the increasing water supply needs of the area, providing a backup to the Tomaree Sandbeds supply system. There was extensive consultation with residents along the pipeline route, with the$12 million project involving new pumping stations and a pipeline. The new watermain allowed Hunter Water to meet the increasing demand for water in the Port Stephens area due to increasing population, particularly over the summer holiday season.
