Hunter Water financially supports the Hunter Region No Interest Loans Scheme (HRNILS) to help low income residential customers, who cannot access mainstream credit, purchase washing machines with a water efficiency rating of 4.5 stars or better.
A number of community centres within the Lower Hunter act as Access Agencies for the Hunter Region No Interest Loan Scheme that can provide loans to help customers buy essential household whitegoods.
To be eligible for a HRNILS loan for a water efficient washing machine, you must live in a local government area serviced by Hunter Water, meet the HRNILS low income criteria (eg on Centrelink benefits, a low wage earner, on a Health Care card or Pension card), and be over the age of 18.
