Stormwater drainage charges only apply to customers whose property is located in the catchments of Hunter Water’s stormwater drains. Hunter Water maintains stormwater drainage networks in parts of Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Cessnock council areas.
Business customers are charged a fixed drainage service charge to cover the maintenance and upkeep of the stormwater pipe and channel networks managed by Hunter Water.
Only properties located in the catchments of Hunter Water's stormwater drains pay drainage charges. For business customers, this charge is based on the area of your property or whether it is a predetermined 'low impact' property.
