      The Callaghan Trunkmain Upgrade is part of Hunter Water’s ongoing program of works to improve and enhance the performance of the water network.

      Fletcher Trunkmain Upgrade

      Location: Lenaghans Drive, Lenaghan

      Timeframe: Commencing mid Nov 2011

      The Fletcher trunkmain runs from Wallsend Water Pumping Station to Stoney Pinch Reservoir, crossing the Hexham Swamp Wetland between Fletcher and Lenaghans Drive.

      In 2006/2007 the Department of Planning’s Lower Hunter Regional Strategy projected additional growth (an increase of 21,000 lots by 2031) around Cessnock.

      Chichester Trunk Gravity Main Upgrade - Beresfield to Stoney Pinch Reservoir

      Location: John Renshaw Drive

      Timeframe: 12 months

      Hunter Water is currently upgrading a 2.7 km section of the Chichester Trunk Gravity Main between Beresfield and Stoney Pinch Reservoir.

      Chichester Trunk Gravity Main Upgrade - Tarro to Shortland

      Location: Tarro and Shortland

      Timeframe: 12 months

      Hunter Water has recently completed construction of an underground section of the Chichester Trunk Gravity Main between Tarro and Shortland to improve regional water security.

      Hunter Water plans to construct a new watermain along Macquarie Road between Macquarie Hills and Warners Bay.

      Location: Lochinvar, Telarah and Rutherford

      Timeframe: 18 months

      Hunter Water has embarked on a six-stage upgrade of the water supply system within the Maitland and North Rothbury area from 2007-2013.

      Hunter Water is upgrading the watermain system in Rathmines and Balmoral. This work will ensure the water supply to these areas remains safe and secure.
