      Hunter Water is undertaking the upgrade of the ABF Tower from August 2011 through to March 2012. Planning has now begun for the Burwood Beach Wastewater Treatment Works (WWTW) Stage 3 upgrade.

      Timeframe: 12-18 months

      The Stage 2 upgrade to the Paxton Wastewater Treatment Works has been completed. Planning is now underway to develop a long-term effluent management strategy.

      Location: Rutherford and Largs

      Timeframe: 12 months

      The Maitland Local Government Area is one of the fastest growing regions in NSW. To service this growth Hunter Water is upgrading the local sewerage system.
    2. Adamstown Wastewater Transfer Upgrade Thyumbnail

      Adamstown Wastewater System Upgrade

      Location: Adamstown

      Timeframe: 12 months

      Hunter Water is currently undertaking an upgrade to the Adamstown wastewater system which is expected to be completed by November 2012.

      Location: Metford, Woodberry, Thornton and Beresfield

      Timeframe: Initial planning and investigations underway until 2012

      Hunter Water plans to undertake an upgrade to the storage capacity within the wastewater system at Woodberry, Metford, Thornton and Beresfield.
    4. Cardiff Wastewater Treatment Plant

      Cardiff Wastewater Pump Station Upgrade

      Location: Argenton

      Timeframe: 12 months

      We are upgrading the pumping station to ensure it continues to meet the needs of the growing population. The work will also reduce the frequency of wet weather sewerage flows reaching Lake Macquarie.

      Location: Clarence Town

      Timeframe: 2 years

      Hunter Water is providing reticulated sewerage services to Clarence Town as part of the NSW Government's Country Towns Water Supply and Sewerage Program.

    6. Kurri Kurri Wastewater Pump Station Upgrade

      Location: Kurri Kurri

      Timeframe: Complete by December 2011

      Hunter Water is undertaking a staged upgrade of the existing wastewater system in Kurri Kurri.
    7. Maryland Wastewater Treatment Works Thumbnail

      Maryland Wastewater System Upgrade

      Location: Maryland

      Timeframe: -

      Hunter Water proposes to upgrade the existing sewer system in Maryland by constructing approximately 1km of new sewer pipe.

      Location: Hamilton North, Mayfield and Broadmeadow

      Timeframe: 12 months

      Hunter Water is currently planning to upgrade the wastewater system in the Mayfield area. The work will reduce the frequency of wet weather sewage overflows and will provide benefits for the community and local environment.
