Chichester Trunk Gravity Main Upgrade - Beresfield to Stoney Pinch Reservoir

Overview

Stoney Pinch CTGM_main image_2

Hunter Water is currently upgrading a 2.7 km section of the Chichester Trunk Gravity Main between Beresfield and Stoney Pinch Reservoir.

The pipe is located alongside John Renshaw Drive. This work is essential for maintaining a secure and reliable water service to the Maitland and Cessnock areas.

Work involves removing the existing above ground pipe. It will be replaced with a new, larger underground pipe.

Because of the constraints imposed by working close to overhead power lines we will need to clear a 15 metre wide strip of trees to build the new pipe. A 40 metre section of the clearance corridor will be reduced to 10 metres to avoid disturbing a community of Nestled Bottle Brush.

We will be replanting native trees along the site when the works are finished.

Construction work for this project started in May 2011 and will take about a year to complete. The work is being done by Diona Pty Ltd.

How this might affect you?

Some residents nearby the construction site may experience an increase in noise and dust during construction. Measures will be taken to minimise any impacts generated by the works.

Your patience is appreciated as we undertake these essential construction works.
