Trees In Newcastle

Hunter Water has sponsored the Biodiversity in Schools Program in conjunction with Trees In Newcastle since 2001.

The Biodiversity in Schools program provides assistance to schools in the areas of water management, environmental audits, playground assessments, garden design and construction, project design, bush regeneration and plantings.

The program is designed to promote ways of increasing biodiversity through the planting of native plants to ultimately reduce water. Sustainable use of materials and linking these into management plans promotes long term viability for resources.

All schools are involved in decision making on projects and community involvement is an ultimate aim.
