National Maritime Museum Society

The National Maritime Festival celebrates Newcastle’s rich maritime history and is now not only Newcastle’s longest running event, but one of Australia’s largest annual maritime festivals.

Hunter Water’s annual funding support’s the Festival in bringing a visiting historical tall ship to Newcastle to be on display with cruises on Newcastle Harbour.

The National Maritime Festival, the new Maritime Centre and the visiting tall ship concept are all community projects based on engaging the community and allowing Novocastrians and visitors to celebrate Newcastle’s rich maritime history.
