Hunter Water to upgrade Chichester Trunk Gravity Main

Hunter Water plans to replace a critical link in its water supply network.

The Chichester Trunk Gravity Main project, a 7.4-kilometre pipe which extends between Tarro and Shortland, will be replaced after transferring water for 85 years.

The new pipe will be laid underground to prevent a repeat of major damage caused to the structure when the 1955 flood washed it from its embankment.
