Tomago (Ash Island) Trunkmain Upgrade

Tomago Trunkmain Upgrade is part of Hunter Waters long term investment to cater for the future growth of the lower Hunter region.

The upgrade will involve replacing a 3km trunkmain that runs from north to south on Ash Island, along Ramsar Road. The trunkmain supplies water from Tomago to Newcastle. This upgrade is essential to cater for the future water demands of the Newcastle region,  and provide a reliable water service to the people who live there.

Work started in July 2009, and will be completed by early 2010. To protect the safety of people visiting the island, Ramsar Road will be closed to all general vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists for the duration of the project.
