A simple test is to fill a 10-litre bucket from the tap beside your water meter. If it takes 30 seconds or longer to fill, your pressure may be low.
Contact us to report a low pressure problem. The problem may in fact be due to a water main break in your area. In this case we will advise when normal services will be returned.
Peak demand times affect pressure. Peak demand periods are from 7-10am and 5-10pm when most people are using water. Periods of hot weather will also place additional stress on the water system.
Our water supply system is designed to address estimated peak demand however at times the estimated peak demand can be exceeded.
Unexpected demand increases can be due to a number of factors, such as weather conditions and/or changes in customer behaviour over time.
There are many variables, which can result in low pressure.
