Wastewater Quality

The Corporation’s Operating Licence requires compliance with the DEC licence conditions for each wastewater treatment works.

The main measures of performance are against the 50 percentile and 90 percentile concentration limits and load limits for Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), pH, Grease, Total Nitrogen (TN), Ammonia, Total Phosphorus (TP) and Faecal Coliforms (FC) specified in the licence for each plant.
