Australian Government Rainwater Tank Rebate
On 30 January 2009 the Minister for Climate Change and Water announced that the Australian Government is offering rebates of up to $500 to households for either:
- The purchase and installation of a new rainwater tank which is connected for internal reuse of the water for toilet and/or laundry use; or
- The purchase and installation of a permanent greywater treatment system.

NABERS
The National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS) is a scheme for rating the energy and water efficiency of Australian buildings. There are currently rating tools for offices and residential homes. For more information click here.
WELS
The Water Efficiency and Labelling Standards (WELS) scheme is a national scheme providing water efficiency labelling for appliances. Household appliances such as washing machines, toilets, shower heads, tapware and dishwashers must now have a WELS efficiency star labelling, with more stars given to the most efficient products. Smart Approved Water Mark
A labelling scheme aimed at mainly outdoor products and services. Only products or services that meet minimum water efficiency criteria can display the Smart Approved Water Mark. For more information click here.
