1.1 General
This contract involves the design, development and construction by trenchless technology of approximately 510m of DN400 pressure assisted gravity (PAG) sewer at a depth of maximum 35 metres below the crest of the hills in Glenrock State Recreation Area (SRA) in Kahibah.
The new DN400 PAG sewer will be terminated at a new Access Chamber KAH274 at Kahibah No.1 Wastewater Pumping Station (WWPS) and at a new Access Chamber HDD1 near the pedestrian bridge that crosses Flaggy Creek in the Glenrock SRA. The access chambers and connecting sewers are not part of this scope and will be constructed by others.
The delivery of this Contract is divided into two phases as follows:
* Design Development
* Construction
1.2 Design Development
Prepare a Detailed Design based on the Principal's Preliminary Design adn this Specification.
The works include but is not limited to:
(a) facilitate a design workshops (at least 6 hours in duration in the Principal's office in Newcastle) to review the preliminary design and available data, and to present the Contractor's design option and proposals.
(b) prepare and submit design options
(c) prepare and submit Draft and Final Detailed Design
(d) prepare and submit Draft construction works programme
1.3 Construction
Construct the works including but not limited to the supply of all labour, plant equipment, materials and miscellaneous items to:
(a) supply and install by trenchless technology approximately 510m of DN400 PAG sewer;
(b) clean and flush the pipeline;
(c) site restoration; and
(d) all other work not specifically stated above but reasonably required to comply with the requirements of the Specification, Principal's Preliminary Design and the Contractor's Detailed Design.
