Hunter Water’s capital works program has grown significantly over recent years with expenditure over the five years from 2008/09 to 2012/13 to be approximately $1.2b. The program includes a number of categories of works including Network assets which is the subject of this EOI.
Network Assets include the water distribution and wastewater transportation pipelines (pressure and gravity) and water and wastewater pumping stations. In addition to the Program of Works, Hunter Water occasionally has a need to undertake works in response to emergencies and it is intended where appropriate, that one or more panel member(s) will be invited to undertake specific works.
The purpose of this Prequalification as a Construction Constructor Panel Member is to classify contractors in accordance with their expertise and capabilities before inviting tenders for any specific contract. Construction contactors seeking to offer services to Hunter Water for work in certain categories must first become prequalified by Hunter Water.
By establishing the prequalified list Hunter Water seeks to maximise opportunities for the Prequalified Construction Contractor Panel Members and to ensure efficiency in the specific project tender and contract award processes.
The life of the panels will be a maximum of three (3) years with options to extend the life of the panels a further two years in one year increments. If the need arises and at its sole discretion, Hunter Water reserves the right to accept new applications to join during the life of the panels.
