Hunter Water Wins Silver at Australasian Reporting Awards

Hunter Water was awarded its third straight silver award for excellency in annual report writing at 58th Annual Awards Presentation dinner held at the Hilton Sydney on Thursday 5 June 2008.

“It’s a great achievement to be recognised by the ARA as having a report which is informative, factual and relevant”, Hunter Water’s Managing Director, Kevin Young said.

He also added that, “Hunter Water is proud to be able to produce a report which discusses performance and future direction of the Corporation which are of relevance to stakeholders and the community”.

In 1950, to improve the standards of financial reporting in Australia, a group of leading business people established the Annual Report Awards. The Awards are now known as the Australasian Reporting Awards (ARA).

The Awards are run by Australasian Reporting Awards Inc., an independent not-for-profit organisation supported by volunteer professionals from the business community and professional bodies concerned about the quality of financial and business reporting.

The Awards provide an opportunity for organisations to benchmark their reports against the ARA criteria. The Awards are open to all organisations that produce an annual report.
