Protective Coating Of Grahamstown Backwash Tank

This Contract is for the Protective Coating of Grahamstown Backwash Tank located at HWC’s Tomago Water Treatment Works, off  Tomago Rd, Tomago.
The tank is approximately 9.6 metres in diameter with 4.9 metre high walls elevated on a steel structure 10.2 m high. 
Work under this Contract includes, but is not limited to:-

• Removal of all existing internal (VR3 Vinyl) coatings on the tank.
• Mechanical preparation only of the external (red lead) coatings on the tank and supporting structure.
• Provision of a total containment method for the duration of the internal preparation and protective coating works.
• Application of protective coatings to all internal and external steel surfaces.
• Collection, testing and disposal of all materials resulting from all surface preparation.
• Demolition and removal of the existing internal ladder.
• Fabrication of a new internal ladder and modifications to the topmost access platform.
• Replacement/repair of corroded steelwork and fittings (eg. turnbuckles)
• Disposal of all waste materials
• Restoration of all disturbed areas.
