The Water Cycle

Do you ever think about water when you turn on the tap? Could you imagine what it would be like without water?

We need it for drinking, cooking, washing, for toilets and showers. We use it for watering gardens, in swimming pools, for washing cars and at farms and factories. Without water there would be no life at all.

Water flows through an ongoing cycle, called the water cycle. This is the continuous movement of water between the land, oceans and the atmosphere.

Water is always cycling around, through, and above the earth. As it flows through the cycle, water changes from liquid to gas or ice and back to liquid water.
