- The NSW Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) publicly reviewed the performance of the Corporation’s Operating Licence in order to recommend to the Government the terms for a new licence to apply from 1 July 2007.
- Results from the Customer Perception Survey again indicated that Hunter Water's customer have a very high level of satisfaction with the Corporation.
- Hunter Water continued to pursue opportunities to increase levels of recycling, with approval given to provide recycled water to new residential developments at Cooranbong North and Gillieston Heights. These dual reticulation schemes and are an innovative and environmentally conscious way to value water as a precious resource.
- Work commenced on the major upgrade of the Belmont Wastewater Treatment Works – at a cost of $22 million. This upgrade will increase capacity from a population of 85,000 to 110,000 to cater for growth in the catchment.
