Strategy & Communications partners with other divisions in delivering business outcomes. A key focus is providing strategic support and advice on a range of areas across the business including:

• Co-ordinating development of corporate direction through Hunter Water’s business plan.
• Managing the interface with regulators in terms of Operating Licence, pricing, Statement of Corporate Intent requirements.
• Ensuring an appropriate governance and risk management framework across the business.
• Managing our external and internal communication strategies.
• Providing internal audit services to the Corporation.
• Providing support for Board and Committees


 

Recent Achievements

• Development of a new Strategic Business Plan for the business.
• Negotiation of a new Operating Licence which applies from 1 July 2007.
• Completion of the Recycled Water Strategy Study.
• Development of business continuity and flu pandemic response plans.
• Development of a new internal communications strategy.
• Water supply agreement with Central Coast.
• Fraud Control Strategy
• Revision of Corporate delegations.


 

Looking Ahead

• Develop stronger strategic supply links with the Central Coast and Singleton.
• Develop strategy for next price path commencing 1 July 2009.
• Deliver new internal and external communication strategies.
• Roll out Hunter Water’s new Strategic Business Plan.
• Develop a comprehensive, enterprise-wide risk management policy and methodology.
• Negotiate targets for proposed new system performance standards.
• Participate in the development of a competition framework.
